UPDATE on MOM

So many of you have been asking about my mom ... THANK YOU for your words of encouragement, concern, and most of all, your prayers. My mom has been diagnosed with brain cancer. They will be surgically removing the tumor, followed by radiation treatments. Without going in to alot of detail, there's alot to be hopeful for! It's just a slow process, and we are currently waiting for surgery to be scheduled. I would very much appreciate your continued prayers for my mom (Carol Ann) and our entire family.

SWEET SUNDAY CAT TAILS

I've seen other stampers make cat tails with the Horizontal Slot Punch and Inspired by Nature grass image, and knew I had to try it! Living in the Arizona desert for the past 25 years, it's been a long time since I've seen real cat tails. I used Sweet Sunday Sketch #43 to make this masculine card for John's uncle who is in the hospital. The sun/moon was created using the Reverse Masking Technique ... punch a 1 3/4" circle out of a scratch piece of cardstock and use the negative as a template to sponge the inside of the circle with More Mustard ink.

BACK HOME

THANK YOU for all the prayers and well wishes regarding my mom's well being! I returned to Phoenix earlier this week, Mom's brain biopsy went well, and we are still waiting for the results. Your continued prayers are greatly appreciated!

I am working on getting some "catch-up iPICKS" together for your viewing pleasure, and hope to get back to some stamping this weekend.

In case you missed Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge while I was gone, check them out ... SSSC42 and SSSC41.

This is a picture of some roses I gave my mom while she was in the hospital. They were so vibrant and perfect ... every health professional and visitor that walked in her room commented on them!

STILL AWAY

I'm still in Omaha with my mom (Carol Ann), and my return home is unknown at this time. They are running every test under the sun to find another primary site in hopes of not doing the risky brain biopsy. She was moved out of ICU on Friday. Thank you for your prayers and words of encouragement! Keep 'em coming ... we could use a miracle!

I'll start up with blogging, iPICKS, and Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge when I get back home in a normal routine.

NO iPICKS THIS WEEK

So sorry ... but there will be no iPICKS or posts this week. My 64 year old mother was diagnosed this morning with a brain tumor. She is in ICU at an Omaha hospital, and I'll be flying out of Phoenix this evening to be with her. Please pray!

SWEET SUNDAY FRANK

My design for Sweet Sunday Sketch #40 is pretty simple this week, but what a great sketch! The possibilities are endless! (If only I had more time to explore them!)

I hope you'll find time to play along! Be sure to link your sketch card to Karen's post so everyone can see your creation! Here's more sketch inspiration from the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers ...

HAPPY 15th BIRTHDAY, DREW!

Today is my son's 15th birthday! I purchased this Extreme Guitar stamp with Drew in mind ... music is a huge part of his life, and he plays the bass guitar (we'll just pretend that this acoustic guitar is a bass!). The new Night & Day Specialty Designer Paper from the '09 Holiday Mini Catalog suits Drew too ... BLACK just like the majority of his teenage wardrobe!

Again, Karen Giron provided the perfect sketch to work with -- Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #39. Be sure to link your sketch card to Karen's post so everyone can see your creation! Here's more sketch inspiration from the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers ..
